Heritage MAT Governance Structure
At Heritage MAT, our governance model is designed to keep decision-making as close to our schools as possible. We believe that those who know their communities best should have a strong voice in shaping their school’s future.
A Collaborative Approach
Our structure ensures that local governance plays a central role in school improvement. Each school has a Local Governing Body (LGB) empowered to make decisions within a clear framework, supported by our Scheme of Delegation. This document sets out roles, responsibilities, and levels of authority, enabling local governors to run their schools confidently while aligning with Trust-wide standards.
Clear Accountability
The Trust Board and its committees operate under detailed Terms of Reference, which make explicit where accountability and decision-making lie. This clarity ensures transparency and consistency across all levels of governance.
By combining local autonomy with strategic oversight, Heritage MAT creates a governance model that is both responsive and robust, ensuring every school can thrive while contributing to the shared vision of the Trust.
