The Salendine Nook Community Hub in Kirklees is a collaborative initiative designed to support children and families from early years through to adulthood. Here's how it works:
The hub is a school-led partnership made up of seven schools working together within the local community:
- Salendine Nook High School Academy
- Lindley CE Infant School
- Lindley Junior School
- Reinwood Infant & Nursery School
- Reinwood Junior School
- Moorlands Primary School
- Spring Grove Junior, Infant and Nursery School
Purpose and Approach
The hub was created to meet the needs of children “from cradle to career”, aiming to:
- Ensure children benefit fully from education and community support.
- Help them grow into healthy, resilient, and productive young adults.
- Provide joined-up support by working across school networks and with various agencies in Kirklees
Key Features
- Community Engagement: Families are encouraged to get involved through surveys, events, and feedback opportunities.
- Multi-agency Collaboration: The hub works with health services, social care, and voluntary organisations to provide holistic support.
- Wellbeing Focus: Resources and guidance are available for emotional health, parenting, and family wellbeing.
